Restorative Yoga is a wonderful way to assist the body/mind/emotions in finding a place of balance in our modern way of living. The practice activates the parasympathetic nervous system, allowing for deep, quiet and nourishing rest. It is an invaluable tool for yoga teachers and practitioners to have in their tool belt as a way to assist students in de-stressing on various levels. We may have students who have very busy lifestyles or are suffering from stress, injuries and/or exhaustion. Restorative Yoga can be practices by anyone and can be used to target specific conditions. When we practice Restorative yoga we utilise postures which may or may not be supported by props, these postures can facilitate a deep and passive release of tension which may have been stored in the body, affecting many of its systems.

 

This training is designed for yoga teachers and practitioners alike. The training runs over 3 days and has an research/assignment component which is to be handed in within 6 weeks of completing the 3 day training. This training is primarily experiential and you will have the opportunity to support others during the practice as well as enjoying and feeling the results of the practices yourself.

 

During the training you will learn the following:

  • a variety of Restorative poses and sequences variation including benefits, contraindications and variations
  • the use of props and how to offer modifications to suit various conditions and body types
  • current research and theoretical aspects of Restorative Yoga
  • how effectively to structure and sequence your own practice or a class
  • develop your skill as a practitioner/teacher of Restorative Yoga first in order to be a guide to students using demonstrations, verbal instructions and adjustments
