A Space to Connect

JUMA classes are for anyone who is looking for gentle, nourishing movement.

This is a place to explore how different types of movement positively impact your body, your mind, your spirit and your breath. This is time to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. There’s no need to perform or get anything ‘right’, just time to move, breathe, and build nourishing awareness, in a space that feels safe, welcoming and allowing.


What We Do

Each session blends movement, stillness, and reflection in ways that feel approachable and supportive. Together, we explore:

  • Yoga & Pranayama – gentle postures and mindful breath

  • Qi Gong & Mobility – flowing, restorative movement

  • Meditation & Yoga Nidra – rest, presence, and self-awareness

  • Journaling & Reflection – noticing, integrating, and creating

Each class is a chance to cultivate strength and softness, focus and freedom, curiosity and care — all at your own pace.


Why It Matters

Life can be busy, fragmented, and a little overwhelming at times. These practices are a way to:

  • Reconnect with your body and mind

  • Refresh your creative spark

  • Build gentle strength and resilience

  • Find calm and presence in everyday life

It’s about using your practice as a little training ground for life — a way to come back to yourself and feel ready for whatever the week brings.  This great things is we practice in readiness for real life – these are practices you can use in your everyday life.


How We Practice

At JUMA, we approach practice in a way that’s flexible, compassionate, and grounded.

  • Modify anything that doesn’t feel right today

  • Take breaks whenever you need to

  • Focus on what your body and energy need right now

We’re all learners here — including me. I guide, share, and offer what I know, but I’m on this path alongside you. That’s part of the joy of practicing together.


Community & Connection

JUMA isn’t just about movement. It’s about connection and curiosity. Many of us enjoy:

  • Coffee, chats, and shared projects

  • Bushwalking, art, knitting, books

  • Occasional retreats or deeper gatherings

It’s a gentle, friendly space where friendship, learning, and support naturally grow alongside the practice.

Monday – Chair Yoga & Meditation | 6pm

Gentle movement, guided meditation, deep rest

An 8-week Chair Yoga series combined with Yoga Nidra and Exploratory Meditation.

This class is ideal if you’re looking for supportive, accessible movement and guided meditation in a calm, welcoming space.

What to expect:

  • Chair-based yoga that gently builds strength, flexibility, and stability

  • A wide range of movement styles including:

    • Yoga

    • Qi Gong

    • Somatic movement & Feldenkrais-inspired exploration

    • Functional strength and mobility

  • Guided meditation practices including:

    • Yoga Nidra

    • Mindfulness

    • Mantra and breath awareness

Good to know:

  • Beginners are very welcome

  • Meditation can be taken lying down, seated in a chair, or on a cushion

  • You’re welcome to join just the meditation/Yoga Nidra component if that suits you better

This class supports calming the nervous system, grounding the body, and finding moments of quiet that feel relevant to modern life.


Thursday – Yoga & Movement | 9am

Gentle flow, strength, mobility, and connection

These classes always begin with a check-in and chat — community and connection are an important part of how we practice together.

Each session includes:

  • Joint lubrication and gentle warm-ups

  • Slow, mindful release of tension

  • A blend of:

    • Hatha & Flow yoga

    • Restorative yoga

    • Qi Gong

    • Functional strength

    • Somatic movement

  • Breath practices to encourage the nervous system to settle and quieten

Classes are gentle yet strengthening, with plenty of options so you can move in a way that feels right for your body on the day.

These practices draw from both ancient wisdom and modern movement science, leaving a nourishing imprint across all layers of the body.

  • Fully equipped studio

  • Classes start and finish on time

  • Gate opens 10 minutes before class begins

  • Safe, inclusive, mental health aware, and trauma-informed

Your teacher

Hey there.  I’m Amanda.  Nice to have you here.  Movement has been a part of my life, all my life.  I love Movement! In many forms – walking, swimming, working out, strength, mobility, yoga, qi gong and more.  Meditation came along later, when I realised that balance might be helpful for my energy levels.   I love learning and that learning is what shows up in our classes, and on our Youtube and Insight Timer channels.  If you want to have a chat before coming along to call, feel free to reach out via our contacts page.  Juma is much more that just coming to classes, we are a community of good folk sharing movement and stillness practices together.  Welcome!

Parking/Check In/Zooming Info

Due to Windmill Street being narrow – we like to keep our neighbours happy and our street safe – 2 cars can be parked in the driveway and a limit of 2 cars directly out the front of the house.  Please park on the left side of the street before the house, rather than up in the the cul-de-sac.

If you choose to attend your class online all you need to do is download Zoom onto your device prior to class.

All mats and props provided.

Terms & Conditions

Attendance at a block of classes is confirmed when full payment is received.  Please ensure you register your attendance via this website.  When purchasing a Block for Yoga or Meditation – the classes are to be used within that specific block. Please arrange makeup classes within same block.
